Península
The Península is the historic heart of Punta del Este and forms the original core of the city. Here you'll find the famous hand sculpture "Los Dedos" at Playa Brava beach, which has become the landmark of the entire region.
The peninsula separates two completely different coasts: To the west lies the calm Playa Mansa overlooking the Río de la Plata, while to the east the wild Playa Brava faces the open Atlantic. This unique location makes the Península a popular starting point for beach walks and offers spectacular sunsets.
The Península houses the oldest buildings in Punta del Este, including the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria and the lighthouse.
The narrow streets of the Península are lined with small boutiques, art galleries, and cozy restaurants. Especially during high season, there's a lively bustle with street performers and markets. The lighthouse at the eastern end of the peninsula offers an impressive panoramic view over the entire bay.
Real estate on the Península is among the most sought-after in all of Punta del Este. The combination of historic charm, central location, and unique flair makes this neighborhood particularly attractive for investors and vacationers alike.
