Environmental Protection in Uruguay
Uruguay has developed modern environmental law. The Ley General de Protección del Ambiente (Law No. 17,283) provides the framework for environmental protection.

The Ministerio de Ambiente (MA) is responsible for environmental matters. Uruguay has committed to the Paris Climate Agreement and promotes sustainable development.
