Piriapolis
Piriapolis - Charming Seaside Resort in Maldonado

Piriapolis is a charming seaside resort west of Punta del Este in the Maldonado department. The town was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by visionary Francisco Piria and still bears his name today.

Francisco Piria created a spa resort here modeled after European examples. The majestic Argentino Hotel still towers over the bay today and recalls the golden era of Uruguayan tourism.

Historical Heritage
The Argentino Hotel, the Cerro San Antonio with its cable car and the Rambla de los Argentinos are testimonies to Piria's grand vision.

The hilly landscape distinguishes Piriapolis from other beach resorts. The cerros offer spectacular views, and the sheltered beaches are ideal for families with children.

Real estate in Piriapolis is affordable and offers much character. The combination of beach, mountains and historic architecture makes the place unique on the Uruguayan coast.
